This is a Mid Coast Thunderbird which is a mythological, powerful, dark-colored bird with supernatural power over the sky and earth. It is seen here with its wings spread over its head. Its body contains a human head signifying its human sprit powers. It was done from a book, "Cross Stitch patterns Based on Pacific Northwest Coast Native Indian Art Styles" that I bought summer of 2006 in Cascade, ID and I just got around to stitching one of the three patterns. I have stitched it in 22 count Aida which made the Thunderbird only 9 x 6 inches. I started it in October and finished in December 2012 while sitting in Port Ludlow RV Park on the Olympic Peninsula finishing up some medical stuff.
